Gun sales plunge for Smith & Wesson owner

Smith & Wesson owner American Outdoor Brands reported a quarterly 33 percent decrease in net sales.

Its profits sank 65 percent, causing shares to plunge 18 percent in after-hours trading.

CEO James Debney in an earnings call said, "we share our nation's grief," over the Parkland, Florida shooting. He said Dick's Sporting Goods' decision to stop selling assault-style rifles would have an "extremely small" impact on the company's sales.
