Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Co. (Nasdaq: ALGT) is adding a Gulf Shores, Alabama, flight path at Springfield-Branson National Airport.
The twice-weekly nonstop service is scheduled to start May 22, according to a news release issued this morning. The route marks Allegiant Air's seventh nonstop destination at the Springfield airport.
“We know that Gulf Shores is a very popular destination for southwest Missouri,” said Brian Weiler, director of aviation for the Springfield airport, in the release. "This region is a beloved leisure destination for our community, and we are excited to add another SGF nonstop destination with Allegiant."
More than 1.3 million passengers have utilized the Springfield airport to date in 2025, according to the release, a roughly 10% increase compared with the same time last year. The Springfield airport is projecting over 1.5 million passengers this year, which would mark the third-consecutive record year of traffic.
