Guaranty joins new microcap stock group

Posted online
Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc., the holding company of Springfield-based Guaranty Bank, recently joined the newly launched Russell Microcap Index.

The index debuted July 1 and is comprised of the 1,000 smallest companies in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index and the next 1,000 smallest securities. Each company’s size is determined by market capitalization.

Guaranty and other companies can use the index to compare performances among the microcap marketplace of stocks. Investment managers then will be able to set benchmarks for investment strategies.

Companies on the list have combined total assets of $2.5 trillion. A high ranking on the list could encourage investment managers to purchase shares of a company’s member stocks.

Guaranty Bank offers full banking services and has seven branches and 20 automated teller machines in Greene and Christian counties.
