Springfield-based Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc., the holding company for Guaranty Federal Savings Bank, announced Dec. 20 a quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share on 2,779,895 shares of its common stock to be paid on Jan. 24. It will be paid to stockholders of record on Jan. 10.
According to a news release from the bank, there are 15,727 shares remaining to be purchased in order to complete the purchase of 437,764 shares of common stock that was announced on Jan. 5, 2001. The repurchase of 300,000 shares of common stock announced on Nov. 2 will commence as soon as the above plan has been completed.
The company's common stock trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol "GFED."
Guaranty Federal Savings Bank has eight branches and 18 ATM locations in Greene and Christian counties.
