Guaranty Bank hires chief credit officer

Guaranty Bank has created a chief credit officer position to handle loan growth and the challenging credit environment.

Sheri Biser is the Springfield-based bank's new executive vice president, chief credit officer. She is responsible for assisting commercial lenders, loan analysts and loan administration personnel in managing the credit risk in the bank's loan portfolio.

"... Guaranty Bank has increased loans to nearly $600 million in the past few years," bank President and CEO Shaun Burke said in a news release. "This growth, along with the challenging economy, a changing regulatory environment and our desire to prudently continue to grow the company, made it imperative to increase our leadership in our loan area."

Biser has 20 years of credit administration experience and has served as a bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., according to the release.
