Guaranty announces increased dividend

Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc., the holding company for Springfield-based Guaranty Bank, on Sept. 22 declared a 17-cent dividend for the third quarter.

The dividend, payable Oct. 16 to stockholders of record Oct. 2, is a 3 percent increase from Guaranty’s second-quarter dividend of 16.5 cents. It will be paid on 2.76 million shares of common stock.

Guaranty has paid 27 consecutive dividends since 1997, including nine consecutive semi-annual dividends and 18 consecutive quarterly dividends.

Guaranty Bank has eight locations in Greene and Christian counties. Shares (Nasdaq: GFED) closed Oct. 3 at $27.90 compared to a 52-week range of $26.11 to $30.59.
