@GSElevator tattletale exposed

Posted online
With tweets such as “I never give money to homeless people. I can’t reward failure in good conscience” and “Some chick asked me what I would do with 10 million bucks. I told her I'd wonder where the rest of my money went,” purportedly comments made by Goldman Sachs executives, it’s small wonder that the gossipy Twitter account @GSElevator has more than 600,000 followers. Or that its anonymous author landed a book deal.

His name is John Lefevre, according to the New York Times.

Anonymous online postings cause concerns among some about what is accurate and what is entertainment, according to the New York Times report. Touchstone, the upcoming book’s publisher, however, brushes off criticism, stating that the author has been honest with them throughout. His agent points out that “every story in the book is true,” and reflects the culture of Wall Street.
