Grocery tax resumes in Illinois

Illinois' 1% grocery tax is set to resume on July 1, when the state's fiscal year begins.

The state's legislature paused the grocery tax amid record-high inflation last spring.

Also starting July 1 is a second increase to the state’s motor fuel tax in 2023.
