Greitens pans call for probe into charity donor list

Posted online
Gov. Eric Greitens and the Missouri Republican Party are dismissing calls by a bipartisan group of senators to investigate the governor's use of a donor list from his former charity.

The list is said to have helped Greitens raise money for his 2016 campaign. The governor hasn't clarified how he obtained the list, leaving some to question whether his campaign stole it.

Greitens spokesman Parker Briden said the investigation queries were “temper tantrums from career politicians.”

“They’re angry that the governor is shaking up Jefferson City and won’t accept their excuses for failure any longer,” Briden said.

The group of senators calling for the investigation includes Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield.
