Greitens names new Missouri prison chief

Gov.-elect Eric Greitens has selected a corrections official from North Carolina to lead Missouri's state prison system.

He picked Anne Precythe, a former parole officer who currently serves as directory of community corrections in North Carolina's Department of Public Safety.

Precythe will be the second woman at the helm of Missouri’s prisons, after Dora Schriro, who served as director from 1993 to 2001. Her selection comes in the wake of reports that Missouri's Department of Corrections has a culture of harassment and retaliation among workers.
