Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens sidestepped the General Assembly Monday to launch a painkiller database.
In creating his version of a prescription drug monitoring program, Greitens said painkiller abuse in Missouri is a "modern plague."
“There are too many families that have had to deal with this,” Greitens said. “We have to look this problem square in the eye.”
