Howard Bailey Co. is the general contractor for Greenlawn Funeral Home’s new location, to be complete in late December. J. Stuart Todd Inc., of Dallas, is the architect. Springfield’s Hood-Rich is the civil engineer, and Dallas firm Schmidt & Stacy is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Another Dallas firm, Hunt & Joiner, is the structural engineer for the single-story 24,000-square-foot structure. The estimated construction value is $2.75 million, according to the building permit on file with the city of Springfield. The exterior is brick and stone, said Matt Bailey of Howard Bailey Co., and the interior features a great deal of woodwork. The project also includes a detached garage that will accommodate six limousines for the funeral home’s vehicles. The garage will have wash facilities, Bailey said.
