Greene County's wages rose in the third quarter of 2024, according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Average weekly wages in Greene County during the third quarter were $1,096, a 4.1% increase from a year earlier, according to a news release. By percentage increase year over year, Greene County ranked No. 178 among the 369 largest U.S. counties measured by the BLS.
Here are Missouri's largest counties, in order of third-quarter percent increase and wage growth rank nationally:
• Boone, $1,170, up 5.6%, No. 38
• Jackson, $1,354, up 4.5%, No. 122
• St. Charles, $1,103, up 4.3%, No. 151
• St. Louis City (which operates as its own county), $1,498, up 4.2%, No. 165
• Greene, $1,096, up 4.1%, No. 178
• Clay, $1,156, up 3.9%, No. 203
• St. Louis, $1,374, up 3.2%, No. 284
Among the largest U.S. counties, 363 had year-over-year increases in average weekly wages during the third quarter, according to the release.
