Greene County wages rank lowest among largest MO counties

Wage earners in Greene County brought in an average $708 per week during the second quarter, the lowest amount among Missouri's largest counties, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released today.

The city of St. Louis led the Show-Me State in wage earnings per week, at an average $972, followed closely at $971 per week by St. Louis County, according to a news release.

Still, Greene County's average rose 1.9 percent compared to the same quarter last year, the third highest increase after a 3.2 percent bump in Clay County and 3.1 percent jump in the city of St. Louis.

The U.S. average weekly wage rose 2.1 percent to $921 for the second quarter ended June 30, according to the release.
