Wages in Greene County were down to end the year in 2022, according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Fourth-quarter average weekly wages in Greene County came to $1,051, a 1.2% decrease compared with a year earlier, according to a news release.
By percentage increase compared with the same quarter a year earlier, Greene County ranked No. 174 out of the 355 largest counties measured by the BLS.
Missouri's largest counties, in order of fourth-quarter percent increase and wage growth rank nationally, are:
• Clay, $1,214, up 2%, No. 19.
• St. Charles, $1,067, up 0.5%, No. 74.
• St. Louis City (which operates as its own county), $1,402, down 0.8%, No. 144.
• Greene, $1,051, down 1.2%, No. 174.
• Boone, $1,047, down 2.2%, No. 242.
• Jackson, $1,345, down 2.3%, No. 250.
• St. Louis County, $1,408, down 2.4%, No. 255.
Of the 355 largest U.S. counties, 240 had year-over-year decreases in average weekly wages, according to the release. The national average weekly wage in the fourth quarter was $1,385, a 2.3% drop.
