Greene County's wages grew more quickly than most of the 360 largest counties nationwide during the fourth quarter, according to the latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
Average weekly wages in Greene County were $1,098 during the final quarter of 2023, according to a news release. That's up 4.7% from the same three-month period a year earlier.
By percent change, Greene County ranked No. 57 nationwide, according to the BLS.
Here are Missouri's largest counties, in order of fourth-quarter percent increase and wage growth rank nationally:
• St. Charles, $1,122, up 5.5%, No. 29
• St. Louis City (which operates as its own county), $1,473, up 5.1%, No. 38
• Greene, $1,098, up 4.7%, No. 57
• Clay, $1,245, up 4.6%, No. 66
• Jackson, $1,409, up 4.1%, No. 105
• St. Louis, $1,467, up 4%, No. 111
• Boone, $1,087, up 3.5%, No. 180
Among the 360 largest counties nationwide, 348 had year-over-year increases in average weekly wages during the fourth quarter, according to the release.
