Linda Strait, vice president and director of operations for Great Southern Travel, attributes the honor to the agency’s thorough and attentive service.
“What we have done is just tried to be sure that we deliver every aspect of the travel vacation product that people need,” Strait said, “either through our online booking system on our Web site or through our vacation consultants, who do extensive training and are focused on our preferred suppliers so that we get very good service from them.”
Great Southern Travel was selected on the basis of its successful 2009 sales performance, which Strait attributes to the agency’s ability to adapt in a down year for travel.
“Everybody was value conscious so we tried to supply as much value as possible in any vacation package or make sure that people completely understood what they were paying for and the different components they were getting when they bought a package,” Strait said.
Strait said the honor points to the agency’s ability to provide quality customer service that attracts clients even in a poor economic climate.
“It’s just an indication that, even in downtimes, people are still traveling and they’re being able to find what they need through Great Southern Travel.”
