The new location allows the company to provide retail banking services to the Kansas City metropolitan area for the first time.
Great Southern purchased a 6,000-square foot building that will feature a lobby, offices, safe deposit boxes, a teller area and drive-through lanes.
The company has had a loan production office in the area for several years but had been looking to add retail services, said President and CEO Joseph W. Turner in a news release.
Great Southern has assets totaling $2 billion and operates 34 retail branches in southwest and central Missouri. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Great Southern Bancorp (Nasdaq: GSBC), whose shares closed Aug. 23 at $30.87.
