Great Southern set to open 38th location

Posted online
Great Southern Bank is scheduled on Monday to open its 13th Springfield location.

The 2,500-square-foot banking center, 2945 W. Republic Road, will feature a full-service lobby, safe-deposit boxes, drive-through teller lanes and an automated teller machine.

Matthew J. Murphy is the banking center manager, one of six associates at the location, which is Springfield-based Great Southern’s 38th in Missouri. CEO Joe Turner said in a news release that the company picked the West Republic Road location for expansion because it’s in a rapidly growing part of Springfield and because Great Southern has nearby customers.

A building permit filed with the city of Springfield shows estimated construction costs were $350,000.

Great Southern Bancorp Inc. is publicly traded (NASDAQ: GSBC) and has assets of $2.3 billion. Its stock closed Thursday at $27.65, compared to a 52-week range of $25.05 to $32.14.[[In-content Ad]]
