Great Southern Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: GSBC) posted a 1.8% increase in first-quarter profits.
The Springfield-based operator of Great Southern Bank reported net income of $17.5 million, which compares with $17.2 million a year earlier, according to a news release. Diluted share increased to $1.58 from $1.47 per share.
“Our first-quarter 2026 results reflect a solid start to the year, driven by disciplined execution across the business," Great Southern President and CEO Joe Turner said in the release. "Throughout the quarter, we remained committed to the fundamentals that have supported our performance over time, including careful balance sheet management, sound credit and expense discipline, and thoughtful capital allocation."
As of March 31, Great Southern's assets were $5.7 billion and deposits were $4.4 billion, according to the release. The company has 87 branches in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Arkansas and Nebraska, as well as commercial lending offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Omaha and Phoenix.
GSBC shares were trading at $70.24 as of 11:26 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $50.95 to $70.91. The stock’s 52-week high was hit this morning.
