Great Southern prepares to open first Arkansas branch

Springfield-based Great Southern Bank (Nasdaq: GSBC) is opening its first branch in Arkansas Thursday, and the company has festivities planned to mark the occasion.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled the bank in Rogers, Ark. The facility features a full-service lobby with safe deposit boxes, extended lobby and drive-through hours and a 24-hour automated teller machine, according to a news release.

The Rogers Great Southern Building, 2522 Pinnacle Hills Parkway, Ste. 101, also includes offices for Great Southern Travel and a Great Southern loan production office.

"We are excited about celebrating the grand opening of our Rogers banking center, our first full-service retail center in the state,” Great Southern President and CEO Joseph Turner said in the release. “We are pleased to expand our presence in the community and we look forward to providing convenient banking services to our existing customers as well as the opportunity to build relationships with our new customers.”

With the Rogers bank, Great Southern will have 73 retail banking centers and more than 200 ATMs in Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

Shares of Great Southern stock closed Friday at $22.60, compared to a 52-week range of $17.90-$26.32. Shares were up to $22.72 as of 10:50 a.m. Monday.[[In-content Ad]]
