Great Southern declares dividend, appoints board member

Springfield-based Great Southern Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: GSBC) released Sept. 15 its common share dividend for the third quarter and appointed a new board member.

The holding company for Great Southern Bank declared an 18 cents per common share dividend for the third quarter ending Dec. 31. The dividend will be payable Oct. 13 to shareholders of record Sept. 30, according to a Great Southern news release.

In the same news release, Great Southern named a new board member.

Grant Haden is the newest appointee to the Great Southern Bank and Great Southern Bancorp Inc. Board of Directors. The appointment was made effective Sept. 15.

Haden is a partner and attorney at Haden, Cowherd and Bullock LLC, according to its Web site.

Haden is a board member and the third vice chairman for the CoxHealth Board of Directors and a board member and past president and chairman of Ozarks Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America. He also was a founding shareholder and vice chairman for the board of directors of Douglas County National Bank and Douglas County Banc Shares before the entities were sold in 1991, according to the release.

"We welcome Grant to our boards," Great Southern President and CEO Joseph Turner said in the release. "His expertise and demonstrated leadership will bring unique perspectives on issues that will be of great value to our company as we position ourselves for future success."

Haden joins the ranks of the seven other board members: Joseph Turner, Chairman William Turner, William Barclay, Julie Brown, Thomas Carlson, Larry Frazier and Earl Steinert Jr.
