Great Southern Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: GSBC) reported third-quarter profits that topped results from the same period in 2023.
The Springfield-based operator of Great Southern Bank posted a 3.8% increase in earnings to $16.5 million from $15.9 million a year earlier, according to a news release. Diluted share earnings rose to $1.41 from $1.33 per share year over year.
"Our third-quarter results reflect solid earnings and a strong balance sheet, despite ongoing challenges in the broader economic and banking environment. These results highlight our ability to maintain stability and deliver consistent performance over the long term, even as we face ongoing macro pressures," Great Southern President and CEO Joe Turner said in the release. "I'm proud of our team for their focus on operational excellence and disciplined approach to managing our business."
As of Sept. 30, Great Southern's assets were roughly $6 billion and deposits were $4.7 billion.
GSBC shares were trading at $56.34 as of 11:22 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $46.60 to $65.90 per share.
