Great Southern had been waiting for approval since May, when the two banks came to an agreed exchange. Great Southern purchased the branches for about $1.9 million.
Peoples Bank locations in Camdenton, Climax Springs and Greenview will be converted to Great Southern facilities effective Aug. 6.
Clients of the acquired branches will become Great Southern clients in a smooth transition, Great Southern representative Kelly Polonus said.
“We’re getting our systems ready and preparing for the transfer over,” she said. “We’ve done business in that area of Missouri for some time, and we know that area very well.”
Polonus said Great Southern chose to apply for the branches to strengthen the company’s presence in southwest and central Missouri. After the acquisition is complete, the company will have 34 branches in the region.
The new locations will offer the same banking, investment, insurance and travel services as all existing Great Southern locations.
