Grand Theft Auto V targets $1.5B video game bounty

With the Sept. 17 release of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V, developer Rockstar Games parent company, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO) is expected to bank more than $1.5 billion over the life of the game.

Video game analysts predict the game will sell 12 million units worldwide, relatively quickly, topping out at 20 to 25 million copies sold, according to Fortune Magazine.

Grand Theft Auto remains one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry, especially in the U.S. and Europe where consoles are commonplace.
