A group of graduate assistants at the University of Missouri have sued the college over a unionization issue.
The Coalition of Graduate Workers, a local union affiliated with the Missouri National Education Association, seeks to be recognized as a bargaining representative for 2,600 graduate students employed as teaching and research assistants, instructors, library assistants and graduate fellows.
The suit alleges Mizzou is violating the Missouri Constitution by impeding the graduate assistants’ right to collectively bargain.
