The U.S. government shutdown enters its third day on Monday.
Late Sunday, Senate negotiators failed to reach an agreement restoring federal spending authority. The government also faces demands by Democrats to protect young "Dreamers" from deportation.
The Senate set a vote for 12 p.m. Monday to provide temporary government funding through Feb. 8. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell yesterday said the immigration issue would be brought up on the Senate floor in February.
