Government buying $20M in surplus cheese

The federal government is buying the country's massive cheese surplus.

The Department of Agriculture announced yesterday it would spend $20 million on 11 million pounds of cheese from private inventories.

The 30-year high surplus will be donated to food banks and pantries across the country.
