Government bailouts near break-even point

Five years later, taxpayers are close to breaking even on $698.2 billion in government bailouts issued during the recession.

The Treasury and Federal Reserve have recouped roughly $670 billion of those funds, according to CNNMoney.

Of those still owing money, the auto industry has the lowest percentage paid backed, at 66 percent of its $80 billion bailout funding.
