Gov. Blunt names new chief of staff

Gov. Matt Blunt has named Trish Vincent as his new chief of staff, replacing Ed Martin.

Vincent begins her duties immediately.

Vincent, 53, of Jefferson City, currently is director of the state Department of Revenue. Under her leadership, the department collected more than $30 million in unpaid taxes to the state with the department’s new tax compliance data warehouse, extended regular business hours to improve customer service and launched a new Web site, www.whoisnotpaying.mo.gov, to hold businesses accountable for being behind in sales and withholding taxes.

Vincent previously was deputy secretary of state for businesses services when Blunt was secretary of state. She also served as the in-state director and district office director for former U.S. Sen. John Ashcroft.

“In her new role as chief of staff, Trish will be charged with managing my office, staff and cabinet and helping me move Missouri forward,” Blunt said in a news release.

Martin was chief of staff since September 2006.[[In-content Ad]]
