Google wins landmark search result removal case

The European Union's top court handed a win to Google in a search result removal case.

Under the ruling, Google only has to remove links from its search results in Europe after receiving an approproriate request - as opposed with removing them for the entire world.

The ruling stemmed from a case in which Google was ordered to remove damaging or false information related to a French privacy regulator.
