Google to buy game-livestreaming firm for $1B

Google has signed a deal to buy game-livestreaming firm Twitch for $1 billion, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Business Insider.

The Internet giant's YouTube division will reportedly be in charge of Twitch through the deal.

San Francisco-based Twitch enables people to broadcast their own gameplay sessions on the PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 to online viewers.
