Forgetting your password may finally be a good thing.
Tech giant Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL) is trying to make passwords a thing of the past.
According to CNNMoney, the technology called "Trust API" uses multiple sensors in your smartphone to determine whether it's you – or someone else – trying to log in.
Sensors include everything from your walk pattern using the accelerometer, to how you swipe the screen and sensors that can scan your face, your voice and your location.
During its annual conference last week, Google announced it hopes to have the tech in place for all Android devices by the end of the year.
The king of search engines isn’t the only company working on such tech. MasterCard announced plans in February to launch new mobile technologies allowing customers to authenticate their online purchases using selfies. Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: APPL) has incorporated fingerprint scanning into iPhones since 2013.
