Google Fiber will expand to four new metros

Google Inc. is expanding its fiber service to four new metro areas that cover 18 cities.

Google officials plan to meet with media either today or tomorrow in the new metro areas: Atlanta; Nashville, Tenn.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

Google Fiber, which offers gigabit speeds about 100 times faster than conventional Internet, is already in Kansas City; Provo, Utah; and Austin, Texas.
