Google buys UK retail forecasting firm

Internet giant Google has bought Rangespan, a United Kingdom-based startup that uses data science to help retailers determine which products to sell and when.

Rangespan, which was founded in London in 2011 by former Amazon employees, is the third UK startup to be acquired by Google this year, according to BBC News.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
