Golf instruction venue set to launch in Nixa

With more than a decade of experience instructing golf at other athletic facilities, a Springfield resident is about to launch his own training space in Nixa.

Saturday is the planned opening for 24/7 Golf Performance, a golf instruction facility at 1864 N. Commerce Drive. Owner Sean Saunders said the new venture will operate under the SWS Golf LLC he created in 2008. A golf professional since 2009, Saunders coaches the sport and serves as a personal trainer with American Council on Exercise and Titleist Performance Institute Level 3 Fitness Professional certifications.

Saunders said he’s been leaning more into the performance side of golf and wanted to open his own training facility to help golfers who are serious about improving their game.

“It’s a combination between golf coaching and fitness. It’s movement training,” he said of 24/7 Golf Performance, which will include four bays, two of which will be dedicated to coaching. “You have to work with a coach and can have 24/7 access. It’s going to be a semi-private facility.”

The other two bays will be provided for facility users, who are called subscribers by Saunders. The subscription cost to access the bays, which will allow people to play on golf simulators, is $100 per month.

“You can play 18 holes at two hours easy on a simulator,” he said.

The 3,700-square-foot facility has an event space for gatherings such as birthday parties, he said, adding the venue also can be booked for fundraisers and corporate team -building events.

Startup costs, which include renovation work in the building formerly occupied by Launch Church, will be roughly $130,000, Saunders said, adding he signed a three-year lease for an undisclosed rate with Stormy Properties LLC.

The simulators have roughly 25 courses, including Branson-area options such as Payne’s Valley and Mountain Top, downloaded so far – a number he expects will rapidly grow over time.

“It just takes a little time to download them,” he said, adding the 24/7 access allows subscribers to practice any time they want. “They don’t have to rely on me to be there.”
