Goldman Sachs is in talks to offer financing to Apple's customers, a source familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires.
Under such a deal, a customer buying a $1,000 iPhone X could take out a loan from Goldman Sachs rather than charge it to a credit card.
Officials with both companies declined to comment. The source said the talks are continuing and not final.
