Gogo shares spike after American Airlines drops lawsuit

In-flight Wi-Fi provider Gogo's shares jumped nearly 10 percent Monday after American Airlines dropped a lawsuit over a contract that covers 200 of its aircraft.

In the suit, American asked a judge to give Gogo official notice that American was considering a competing product. Its contract with the service stipulates that if it found a better proposal, Gogo would have a certain amount of time to make a counteroffer.

It now appears Gogo is launching its 2Ku service on the planes. The technology uses satellites and complex onboard antennas to deliver a much better Wi-Fi experience for flyers.
