YOUR BUSINESS AUTHORITY
Springfield, MO
The Greater Ozarks Building Systems Association started in 1981 as a chapter of the National Metal Building Dealers Association. In 1985, the local organization withdrew from the national group but continued as an independent association.
Since then, GOBSA has grown to become one of the major organizations representing companies and persons in all facets of the construction industry.
The current membership is made up of general and subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, service people, design professionals and insurance providers, as well as developers, real estate agents and a host of other related professions.
Our common bond has become our mission statement:
To organize and promote general interests of the building industry in Springfield.
To develop knowledge and coordination between all parties to promote better relationships with building owners, public bodies, architects, engineers, code officials and material manufacturers.
To promote a high professional standard of conduct.
To promote proper safety standards and protection in the construction industry.
To educate, encourage efficiency and sound business methods for industry.
Seven meetings are held during the year, as well as several other outings.
A two-day lake outing/fishing tournament, a spring and a fall golf outing, a full costume Halloween party as well as sponsorship of other events round out our year.
For several years, GOBSA has given thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving students pursuing their education in the industry.
Several members volunteer their time and expertise by visiting area schools to speak about opportunities within the industry.
Membership in GOBSA is limited to companies and people interested in promoting and improving southwest Missouri by encouraging professionalism in the construction industry.
We can be reached at PO Box 4989, Springfield 65808-4989, or visit our Web site at www.pinoak.net/gobsa. We'll be glad to send a membership directory we've got people you need to know.
