General Motors is pulling the plug on car sales in India.
After a comprehensive review of plans for the country, the company announced plans to stop car sales there by the end of the year.
"We explored many options, but determined the increased investment originally planned for India would not deliver the returns of other significant global opportunities," said Stefan Jacoby, president of GM International, in a statement.
The company also is pulling out of South Africa.
