GM to scale back production at Detroit plant

Posted online

General Motors reportedly will scale back production at a Detroit assembly plant though the end of the year.

Reduced production will start Oct. 20, followed by a shutdown of the plant starting Nov. 20 that's expected to last through year's end.

Some 1,500 workers are expected to be affected. They are working on low-demand vehicles: the Buick LaCrosse, the Cadillac CT6, the Chevrolet Volt and the Chevrolet Impala.
