GM to invest $1.5B in Wentzville plant

General Motors is investing $1.5 billion at its Wentzville plant near St. Louis.

Of the funding, $1 billion would be used to upgrade the plant iself. The remainder is earmarked for machinery purchases for outside companies that supply parts to the plant, among other investment plans.

Gov. Mike Parson in July signed a bill providing up to $50 million in tax credits if GM invests $750 million expanding the Wentzville plant.
