GM prepares to recall some Cruze sedans

General Motors is preparing to recall about 33,000 Chevrolet Cruze sedans with potentially defective airbags made by troubled Japanese supplier Takata, the automaker said late Wednesday.

According to CNBC, the defect means the driver-side airbag could fail to inflate on the 2013-14 Cruze.

The issue is not directly related to other problems with Takata air bags that have led to the recall of about 10.5 million vehicles worldwide, many of them made by Honda Motor and Toyota Motor, including 3 million earlier this week.
