General Motors’ Kansas City, Kansas, assembly plant will remain idle for at least one more month.
The fourth-largest manufacturer in the Kansas City area has faced a stoppage in production since February due to a shortage of semiconductor chips.
The plant had been slated to reopen during the first week of July. However, the stoppage now has been extended to Aug. 16.
