GM plans job cuts in South Korea

Posted online
Ahead of its withdrawal of the Chevrolet brand in Europe, General Motors plans to make cuts during the first quarter at its operations in South Korea.

The Wall Street Journal reports GM will institute a voluntary retirement scheme for some 6,000 office workers by the end of March.

Last year's voluntary retirement program resulted in about 250 job losses.
