General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. this month are converting more than 1,000 temporary workers into full-time employees.
The moves impact over 650 GM workers and nearly 400 Ford employees.
Both companies have agreements with the United Auto Workers to convert temporary employees to permanent positions.
