The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their act to the Missouri Southern State University Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin on Feb. 7.
The stop will be part of the Globetrotters 85th season, in which the team will play 270 games in more than 220 cities in 45 states and in Canada, according to an MSSU news release.
"Our 85th season promises to be a landmark year, with never before seen innovations in the game," Michael Kenney, Globetrotters senior vice president of live event marketing, said in the release.
Tickets will go on sale Nov. 22 at the athletic center box office.
The $7.5 million, more than 3,200-seat Leggett & Platt Athletic Center was completed in 1999. MSSU's men's and women's basketball teams play games at the center, and the St. John's Track circling the basketball floor - named after St. John's Regional Medical Center, which provided the funding - is the indoor home for the MSSU track and field teams, according to the center's
Web site.
