Global food prices increased by the fastest monthly rate in more than a decade, the United Nations reports.
Food prices in May jumped 39.7% worldwide compared with the same month a year earlier. That's the largest gain since October 2010.
The increase was led by higher costs for vegetable oil, grain and sugar.
