Four performances are on the docket for the historic Gillioz Theatre's first live theater season.
The downtown Springfield theater has partnered with Poor Thespian Productions for the 2009 season. PTP focuses on connecting audiences with the performers and invites questions and discussions after each show, according to a news release. The group is led by Artistic Director Jon Herbert.
On the Gillioz calendar:
"Waiting for Godot," a tragicomedy about two men waiting for the mysterious Godot to arrive, May 8-10 and May 15-17;
"Barefoot in the Park," a comedy following a newlywed couple's adjustment to married life, July 24-26 and July 31-Aug. 2;
"Death of a Salesman," a tragedy about a typical American, Oct. 15-17 and Oct. 22-24; and
"It's a Wonderful Life," a story of a man who finds happiness through a life crisis, Dec. 10.
