GE's profits drop 28%

General Electric reported a 28 percent drop in quarterly earnings to $736 million in the second quarter.

A report by Reuters pointed to weakness in GE's power business that offset gains in aviation and health care.

The company's revenue rose to $30.1 billion from $29.1 billion a year earlier.
